First Birthday Party
Today we had Jake's birthday party with his friends from school and day care. This is the first of its kind for him. I know there are many more to come, but he was pretty excited for today. We all went bowling and had pizza and cake after opening presents. The kids were all very well behaved, including the boys. The only thing they had to be told more than once was, "no wrestling", and I had to separate them from the pile of themselves they made on the floor. Only a couple of times though. No one was hurt or upset, but I just didn't want things to get out of hand. God, boys are sure different from girls! We set up the bowling so that the boys were in one lane, and the girls in the other. Figured it would work out best that way. The boys finished much faster than the girls, but that's partially because being boys, the faster, the better. Girls are more dainty. Even bowling. We all had a really good time and now Jake is playing with all the awesome gifts he received today. Seriously....NICE presents! Thanks everyone!

Boys are certainly wired differently that's for sure.
We started having parties for our kids at 5 years old too. It's a nice milestone to start with.
Yeah, 5 years old is a great start. That's when Kelsey started too. They're in kindergarten at that point and have their little friends that they stick to. It's just so cute.
That last picture is Emma and Denise - it was Emma's first time bowling - sooooooo cute!!!!!
A bowling party is the way to go when they're this age too....they can make as much noise as they want, the mess is not at the house, it's fairly inexpensive, and you can invite quite a few kids so no one has to be left out. I highly recommend it!!
