Searching For A Little Help Please

I am reaching out to anyone who has knowledge, either first hand or not, of ADHD and its treatments. What I am mainly looking for is to find out how medications affect kids when they first start taking it, the type of medications that are out there, and any possible side effects. I am looking for the good stories, the ugly stories, everything. I thought I'd put it out there and ask just in case someone has some personal experience with this, and who I may be able to talk to or ask questions about it.

Any information, help, assistance, advice, etc. is welcome and appreciated.
